As we moved towards an early beta this Summer, we decided to start development on an integrated Scripting API to make it much easier to create your own scripts to automate your workflow. This summer we introduced the Scripts Manager, which makes it easy to access and use our scripts. You can find step-by-step instructions for the scripting itself in the forums.
This release includes a bunch of new options for motion blur, general lighting and more! These were contributed by our members. A big thanks goes out to Ace, Carlos, jd, otakon_et, Simon, Spruptz and testrider for their creative input as well!
Internal implementations have been made to support multithreading and ThreadPool, so you will have a cap on temporary memory usage as well as inner loops that can speed up your renders. 2.12 is the first version that targets Windows 8, so we took a closer look at the API changes necessary to make that happen. You'll find the new features, such as ExecuteWindowedUVToRefUV and ExecuteWindowedUVMult to be invaluable for moving between scenes and between the renderer and other Modules. We've also kept the API as simple as possible so that you can implement new rendering modes, improve your gradients and generally increase your workflow by leveraging TQM's power.
We're really excited to bring to you the feature that you're all requesting, which is the ability to import your textures right into the CreateNewTexture dialog. Johannes Vogt and David Trout did a great job of implementing this, and 3.5 hopes to have this fully integrated within a day!
