The music was scored by Bob Bergin after the games were completed. Bergin had composed the music for previous fighting games on the SNK game console as well as some for Sega Genesis and Sega CD games.

The game's official soundtrack was later released digitally on October 26, 2014, and included four new songs, as well as the "Killer Instinct" theme created for the PlayStation 3 console.
